Applications are open for I AM NALA Fellowship 2027. Nalafem invites young African women who are refugees, internally displaced persons or stateless to apply for I AM NALA Fellowship Programme for the period of January 2027 to July 2027.
The programme is designed for young women who are already engaged in leadership, advocacy, political processes, peacebuilding, negotiations, social justice or community organising and who have the potential to influence decision-making and democratic processes.
The I AM NALA Fellowship provides selected participants with capacity building, technical assistance, mentorship, solidarity, networking opportunities and access to resources. Fellows will be supported to strengthen their leadership and increase their ability to contribute to negotiations, decision-making, democratic transitions, reconciliation and peacebuilding in their countries of origin or host countries.
The fellowship is particularly focused on women affected by political or climate-related crises, insecurity and displacement.
The programme will include bi-monthly online sessions, including training sessions, masterclasses and discussions with experienced mentors. Fellows will have opportunities to learn from senior leaders and experts working across different institutions and organisations. The fellowship may also include in-person engagements.
