The funding opportunity targets innovative ideas which can serve as a catalyst for new ways of doing things towards achieving gender equality and or women and girls enjoying their rights.

About the Project:

The WVL Nigeria project (Women’s Voice and Leadership Nigeria) is a five-year project funded by Global Affairs Canada. The project is aimed at tackling the barriers to gender equality and supporting the empowerment of women and girls through provision of technical and financial resources to local feminist/women’s rights organization (LWROs) that are advancing the rights of women and girls and championing gender equality.

Since 2020, LWROs from the six project implementing states (Lagos, Kwara, Enugu, Kebbi, Bauchi and the Federal Capital Territory) and more, received SIF Grant to implement innovative projects. These innovative projects included actions that addressed sexual and reproductive health rights of women and girls, advancing women’s political participation, and increasing girl’s enrolment and retention in secondary schools.
