Applications are open for RETTI X WAVE Solar Panel Design and Installation Training Program 2024. Are you between 18-35 years old, eager to learn about solar energy, and ready to make a difference? This fully funded program is for you! Women are strongly encouraged to apply! This program is held in partnership with and with funding support from West Africa Vocational Education (WAVE).
The goal is to Invest in the technical capacity of young Nigerians in Renewable Energy Technology and opportunities for career advancement in the energy value chain, producing a competent workforce for the renewable energy industry and building entrepreneurs who will advance access to clean energy to 87 Million people in Nigeria without Access.
RETTI X WAVE Solar Program Scope:
- Two weeks in-person training, outdoor practicals
- Two weeks take home project, access to market and mentorship
- Duration: 1 month
- This intensive training is at no cost to successful applicants.
- All learning equipment will be provided.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
This training will go through detailed instruction on:
- How to determine the power consumption for a home and what solar model works for them
- How to recommend a solar system of the appropriate size for any user (home, business, church, bank, barber shop, football viewing Centre, Cinema, charging shop, EV CHARGING STATION)
- How to calculate the system size
- How to install the solar panel on rooftop.
- How to install batteries and charge controllers
- How to determine and calculate the cable size
- All solar PV applications – rooftop, home systems, solar as a service, battery as a service,
- Using software for system design
Other areas of focus:
- The concept of Clean energy electrification
- Backup systems
- Solar components installation
- Inverters and storage systems design and sizing
- Starting your own solar business
- Energy auditing
- Energy management/efficiency
- Applications and implementations of residential including Installation.
