The United Nations Development Organization (UNIDO) invites experts to submit grant proposals for the Programme for Innovation in Climate Adaptation and Resilience Building Solutions (PARS), funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). This initiative aims to drive innovation and resilience in the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) by empowering micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
Purpose of the Call
This call for proposals seeks partners to implement two key components of the GEF/UNIDO project:
- Policy Environment:
- Create a supportive regulatory and policy framework to foster the development and adoption of innovative climate adaptation solutions.
- Financial Innovation:
- Develop and deploy innovative financial instruments to support climate adaptation and resilience-building initiatives.
Focus Areas of UNIDO PARS Project
The PARS project seeks to unlock the ingenuity and creativity of micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to drive innovative climate adaptation and resilience building solutions in the Least Developing countries (LDCs). The project focuses on four pillars that will transform and connect the markets for climate adaptation and resilience building solutions within and across participating countries:
- Creating a conducive policy and regulatory environment to stimulate the development and deployment of innovative climate adaptation and resilience building solutions;
- Development and deployment of innovative climate adaptation and resilience building solutions;
- Development of innovative financial instruments for climate adaptation and resilience building solutions;
- Coordination, Knowledge Management and Learning.
