Applications are now open for The Scoop Storytelling Initiative 2025. This program offers a two-day training for young journalists and youth leaders in Lagos, Kano States and the Federal Capital Territory, who are passionate about governance and accountability.
The training is organized by The Scoop Storytelling Initiative in partnership with LEAP Africa under the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF). It aims to build the capacity of young Nigerians to report on youth-led initiatives and promote good governance.
The training will cover:
- Youth-led movements, Governance and Political Change
- Policy issues related to Governance and Transparency
- The role of digital media and social media in reporting on youth-led movements
- Research and Investigative Media Skills
- Effective Reporting on Youth-led movements
- Writing and Storytelling Skills and use of citizen journalism tools
- Ethical Journalism and reporting on sensitive youth-led movement issues.

Eligibility criteria for Scoop Storytelling Initiative
To be eligible, you must:
- Be 18 to 30 years old.
- Live in Lagos, Kano, or the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
- Have experience reporting or documenting youth-led movements, community campaigns, human rights issues, open-government partnerships, or freedom of information activities.
