Applications are open for MoFund Africa Impact Academy. The Africa Impact Academy is for social entreprises and non profits making an economic impact in their communities in the areas of Agribusiness, health, Tech and Energy.

The target are social entreprises and non profits operating in Kenya, South Africa and Nigeria, operational for at least a year and are fairly confident to be making an impact in their communities. The Africa Impact Academy is a 10 month long engagement which promises to equip African founders and their teams running impactful for profit or non profit initiatives with skills, networks, tools and relationships that scale their work in their communities. At its core is African philanthropy and a community of people willing to invest in such impactful initiatives. The Academy brings both together, and allows time to build connectedness and trust.

The Programme

Africa Impact Academy (AIA), vision is to drive data-driven innovations for business, job creation, and sustainability. AIA aim to be at the forefront of fostering sustainable economic development across Africa through a holistic approach that leverages data and entrepreneurial knowledge. By providing essential resources, training, and support, AIA plays a pivotal role in the lives of entrepreneurs, empowering them to transform their ideas into successful businesses.

For many entrepreneurs, navigating the complex landscape of starting and growing a business can be daunting. AIA addresses this challenge by offering tailored programs that equip entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed. From practical training sessions to mentorship opportunities, we ensure that entrepreneurs have access to the tools they need to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities. This support is especially crucial for youth and women, who often face additional barriers in the business world.

MoFund Africa Impact Academy Four-Track Approach

Track 1: Entrepreneur Support

We empower entrepreneurs with the skills and knowledge needed to grow their businesses and create job opportunities. Our programs focus on practical training and mentorship, particularly targeting youth and women.

Track 2: Ecosystem Development

We work to develop a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem that enhances access to finance, markets, and other essential business development services. By fostering a supportive environment, we aim to create a conducive atmosphere for MSMEs to thrive.

Track 3: Institutional Capability Strengthening

We strengthen the institutional capabilities of grassroots organizations, enabling them to provide sustainable support for MSME growth. Our goal is to build robust support systems that can influence and positively impact the broader ecosystem.

Track 4: Insights and System Influence

We generate actionable insights and influence systems that are critical to supporting the growth of MSMEs in Africa. Through research and data analysis, we identify key areas for intervention and advocate for policies that promote sustainable economic development.
