Applications are open for UGO Fellowship Programme 2026. The UGO Fellowship Programme is a Pan-African leadership development initiative designed to identify and nurture the next generation of ethical, innovative, and impact-driven leaders within the green economy. It is implemented by the Universal Greening Organisation (UGO), an organisation committed to empowering young people to drive sustainable environmental and social transformation across Africa.
Learning Modules
Throughout the programme, fellows engage in a wide range of thematic areas, including:
- Personal development and self-mastery
- Ethical and transformational leadership
- Social entrepreneurship and innovation
- Technology and digital solutions for development
- Community development and grassroots engagement
- Environmental sustainability and green economy systems
- Diplomacy, etiquette, and professional protocol
Beyond classroom-style learning, the programme prioritises experiential growth. Fellows are encouraged to apply their skills to real community challenges, developing practical solutions that contribute to sustainable development outcomes.
A defining feature of the fellowship is the cross-border exchange experience conducted within selected UGO partner countries. This component exposes participants to diverse African cultures, development models, and leadership contexts. It also enables fellows to build meaningful continental networks while gaining global perspectives on sustainability and innovation. Through this exposure, participants evolve from theoretical learners into grounded African leaders with a lived understanding of regional challenges and opportunities.
The programme ultimately seeks to shape a generation of leaders who are not only academically informed but also practically equipped, socially conscious, and committed to advancing Africa’s green transformation agenda.
