Applications are open for The Gap in Between Startup Challenge 2026. The Gap in Between Startup Challenge is a global innovation competition designed to identify and support startups developing solutions that address pressing social, environmental, and economic challenges.

The Startup Challenge of The Gap in Between is an international call designed to boost entrepreneurship as a driver of social and environmental transformation. They seek to identify and showcase startups that are developing innovative solutions to today’s most urgent challenges.

Through this challenge, we not only connect impact-driven entrepreneurs with resources, capital, and strategic allies but also place them at the center of a global conversation about the future we aim to build: fairer, more inclusive, regenerative, and collaborative.

Award

The winning startup of the TGIB Startup Challenge will receive a cash prize of €10,000, which will be formally awarded at the closing session of the Challenge during The Gap in Between in October 2026.

What do selected startups receive?

Selected startups become part of the Startup Challenge cohort and gain access to:

Participation in The Gap in Between event
Visibility within a curated ecosystem of impact innovation
Additionally, semifinalists will:
- Present their solution in pitch sessions during the event
- Have a dedicated presence at the event
- One startup will be selected as the winner and will receive a €10,000 prize

The Startup Challenge is open to startups from all geographies. We welcome applications from international teams working on solutions in social and environmental impact. The Challenge is designed as a global platform.

Please note that while the application and preparation phases are online, selected startups are expected to attend the final event in person in Valencia on October 20.
