Applications are open for AfCFTA Agribusiness SME Matchmaking Program 2026. This call invites export-ready small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in agri-food value chains across Africa to apply. The programme specifically targets agribusinesses seeking new trade and partnership opportunities within Africa and with the Swiss market.
The AfCFTA Agribusiness SME Matchmaking Program is designed to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agriculture value chain by facilitating:
- Business-to-business (B2B) connections
- Access to new regional markets
- Trade and export opportunities within Africa
The program aligns with the AfCFTA goal of boosting intra-African trade and economic integration.
AfCFTA Agribusiness SME Matchmaking Program Benefits
A total of 30 agribusinesses will be competitively selected to receive a tailored support package aimed at strengthening market readiness, enhancing competitiveness, and expanding access to regional and international markets. The support package includes:
- Technical training and coaching on market readiness and opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework
- Tailored coaching by sales advisors to develop effective route-to-market strategies
- Participation in key trade and market linkage events, including trade fairs, buyer visits, and business-to-business (B2B) missions
- Engagement in AfCFTA flagship events
Eligibility Criteria
The program is open to:
- Agribusiness SMEs across Africa
- Businesses operating in areas such as:
- Crop production
- Agro-processing
- Livestock and fisheries
- Agricultural technology (AgriTech)
- Enterprises looking to:
- Expand beyond local markets
- Scale operations regionally
- Build strategic partnerships
Applicants should have operational businesses with clear products or services.
