Applications are open for Agri-Business Facility for Africa (ABF) Agribusiness e-Academy Window 2. The Agribusiness e-Academy is offering you a free, step-by-step learning pathway that helps young and emerging agripreneurs build a viable, climate-smart business concept and stand a chance to win 2000€ or mentoring or tablet/laptop.

Only 3 out of 10 early-stage businesses in Africa secure external funding. Investors look for clear business logic, financial viability, and climate-smart thinking. This pathway helps you build all three at no cost.

This competition is organised by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH through its Agri-Business Facility for Africa (ABF) and Market-Oriented Value Chains for Jobs and Growth in the ECOWAS Region (MOVE-ComCashew) projects, both part of German Development Cooperation.

Together, these projects implement the Joint Action “Business Support Facility for Resilient Agricultural Value Chains”, a combined effort of the EU Directorate-General for International Partnerships (INTPA), Organisation of African Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) and German Government through the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The Joint Action is jointly co-financed by the European Union under the Samoa agreement with OACPS and by the (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ.

Business Model Canvas for Agribusinesses

Climate-Smart Agribusiness: Adaptation
- See how climate risks affect your value chain and learn practical adaptation and risk-management strategies
Creating an Investment-Ready Agribusiness
- Assess the viability of your idea, test profitability, and prepare to pitch to investors or financial institutions.
Your AgriCanvas
- Apply what you’ve learned by building your AgriCanvas, your Business Model Canvas tailored to your idea. This is where your learning comes together and your concept becomes investment-ready.
What you can win
- Submit your AgriCanvas and stand a chance to win:
  - €2 000 in funding or
  - A tablet or laptop or
  - Mentoring support

Eligibility Criteria for ABF Agribusiness e-Academy

You can apply if you:
• Are aged 18+
• Are based in an OACPS member state
• Your agribusiness idea is related to cocoa, maize, cashew, or livestock (cattle, sheep, goats)

How To Apply for ABF Agribusiness e-Academy

Complete the 3 mandatory Agribusiness e-Academy courses in order:
- Step 1: Business Model Canvas AND Climate Smart Agri-Business Adaptation
- Step 2: Creating an Investment-Ready Agribusiness (Unlocked after step 1)
Complete your AgriCanvas:
- Use the official Business Model Canvas template to structure your idea clearly and logically.
Submit your idea
- Link to official submission form
- Before you begin filling in the form, we strongly encourage you to complete your full AgriCanvas (Business Model Canvas). The submission form includes mandatory AgriCanvas fields, and this information is central to the evaluation of your proposal. Preparing your AgriCanvas in advance will help you submit a coherent, investment-ready idea.
