Fast Accelerator 2023 Program

Fast Accelerator

The FAST Accelerator program offers participants a unique opportunity to scale rapidly and sustainably. Fast Accelerator 2023 is an initiative of Flapmax in partnership with Microsoft. The program combines business development, technology integration, funding and community building opportunities to enable African startups to scale more rapidly and sustainably.

Eligibility Requirements for Fast Accelerator 2023

  • Startups must be based in Africa
  • Be ready to scale or expand within the continent
  • Have established product-market fit and generating revenue
  • B2B startups are prioritized
  • Healthcare, Fintech, Edutech, and Industrials/Agtech startups are specifically of interest. Sustainability and Deeptech are welcomed
  • Commitment: Participants must be committed for the entire duration of the program.

Fast Accelerator Timeline

  • July – August 2023- Review: FAST Accelerator team reviews top candidates to participate in the virtual bootcamp program.
  • August 2023- FA Bootcamp: Up to 60 participants will attend the “Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship” two-week online program.
  • October 2023- 5 Weeks in Silicon Valley: Up to 10 top participants from the bootcamp will embark on an all-expense-paid, 5-week Silicon Valley Training Program. The program will culminate with pre-arranged meetings with angel investors, venture capitalists, and potential trade partners.

ASIP Accelerator Program

Startupbootcamp AfriTech has opened applications for Cohort 4 of its ASIP Accelerator Program. The program aims to support the next generation of African Tech Startups disrupting major industry sectors!

The ASIP Accelerator Program is open to startups in various sectors, including but not limited to FinTech, InsureTech, AgriTech, Climate-tech, eCommerce, Digital Health, GreenTech, Mobility, digitizing the informal economy, and empowering artisans.

They scout, skill, and scale early-stage startups through intensive coaching and opportunities for pilots and Proof of Concept projects that subsequently open the doors for longer-term commercial agreements.

Startupbootcamp AfriTech was launched in 2017 as the first multi-corporate-backed pan-African startup accelerator. We run world-class accelerator programs, working with some of the most disruptive startups on the continent. We provide access to our global network of corporate partners, investors, and mentors. The SBC AfriTech portfolio currently has 60 African startups spanning 13 countries and operating in sectors that include FinTech, InsureTech, Logistics, Mobility, AgriTech and Digital Health.

With our support, 95% of SBC AfriTech alumni are still operational 2+ years after the program, and they have an aggregate valuation of nearly $1 Billion and  22% have female cofounders.

This cohort’s incredible partners include:

Dutch Entrepreneurial Development Bank (FMO): A leading impact investor that supports sustainable private sector growth in developing countries and emerging markets by investing in ambitious projects and entrepreneurs.

Government of Senegal, through DER/FJ: A youth and women empowerment structure set up by the President of the Republic of Senegal. With the help of DER/FJ startups will gain public-sector knowledge and support which presents an opportunity to further scale their impact.

Eligibility Criteria for ASIP Accelerator Program

To be eligible for the program, your startup

  • Has to be formally incorporated
  • Has at least 2 people working on the project and devoting at least 50% of their time to the project
  • Has customers or clients using the products or services
  • Is generating revenues from the products or services

What to Expect

During the Covid pandemic, SBC launched Accelerator Squared as a fully online platform that enables startups to access the complete library of content, group workshops, 1:1 mentoring, collaborative sessions with Entrepreneurs in Residence, and invite-only discussion forums with founders from around the globe.

The ASIP Accelerator Program takes a hybrid format and begins in Dakar, culminating in a physical Demo Day where startup founders pitch their disruptive solutions to a broad audience of media, investors, corporate partners, and industry stakeholders.

All 10 startups receive $18,000 in cash together with more than $750,000 in credits and exclusive partner deals from leading technology providers such as AWS, Google, GitHub, Firstbase, Miro, Hubspot and more.
