Kluz Ventures are delighted to announce the launch of the 2024 Kluz Prize for PeaceTech, organized in collaboration with The GovLab (New York University). In an era marked by escalating global tensions and unprecedented challenges, the need for innovative approaches to peace has never been more critical. The Kluz Prize for PeaceTech seeks to unlock the innovative and responsible use of technology for conflict prevention, peace building and reconstruction.
The Kluz Prize for PeaceTech is an annual initiative designed to celebrate, recognize, and propel the innovative use of emerging technologies to foster peace, reduce conflict, and safeguard human dignity and universal human rights across the globe. The Prize is dedicated to individuals, organizations, or initiatives, particularly those initiated by the younger generation and the tech community, including entrepreneurs, engineers, programmers, scientists, startups, accelerators, and venture capitalists. It recognizes their distinguished achievements in peacebuilding, peacemaking, peacekeeping, or peace enforcement efforts, contributing to the development of a local, national, and global PeaceTech movement.
Kluz Prize for PeaceTech Benefits
- The 2024 award will grant $20,000 to celebrate groundbreaking achievements, selected by a distinguished jury of experts and leaders from tech sector, civil society and academia.
- The winner will be honored at an award ceremony in New York City on September 20th, 2024, coinciding with the 79th United Nations General Assembly and the International Day of Peace.
Eligibility Criteria for Kluz Prize for PeaceTech
- The Kluz Prize for PeaceTech welcomes individuals and organizations worldwide, who have distinguished themselves through proven achievements or accomplishments, or innovative projects related to application of transformative technologies in building, supporting, keeping, and promoting peace.
- Particularly those initiated by the younger generation and the tech community, including entrepreneurs, engineers, programmers, scientists, startups, accelerators, big-tech, and venture capitalists.
- Applications can be submitted individually or as a group, with the organization’s name and legal representative indicated.
- Please note, they are not seeking applications proposing new projects. This grant will only be awarded to established projects which have had an impact in the field.
