Application is open for QBE AcceliCITY Resilience Challenge. QBE AcceliCITY is recognized as one of the top five GovTech accelerators worldwide. Its primary objective is to provide a platform for emerging urban solution providers to thrive while minimizing the risks and costs associated with innovation for cities.

During the QBE AcceliCITY Resilience Challenge program, participating teams engage in a web-based curriculum that focuses on business-to-government interactions. They also have the opportunity to directly interact with city leaders, gain access to our virtual LaunchPad 11 global community, and undergo an intensive Boot Camp led by international business, government, and smart city experts. QBE AcceliCITY organizes webinars and workshops specifically designed to assist companies in navigating the intricate challenges of working with governments, effectively conveying the value of their ventures, and establishing valuable connections within the extensive Smart and Resilient City ecosystem. The program concludes with pitch events where city pilot opportunities worth $150,000 are awarded.

For cities, QBE AcceliCITY serves to mitigate the risk that often comes with innovation by connecting local governments with globally sourced, expert-vetted Smart & Resilient City solutions. With hundreds of applications each year, from upwards of 70 countries, QBE AcceliCITY’s vetting process serves to bring forth the best and most prepared solution providers, ready to tackle the pressing urban challenges facing cities today. PRIZES

At Leading Cities, they recognize that startup growth and impact require capital from both investors and clients. The AcceliCITY program connects winners with funding, a pilot project, and a pipeline of clients from cities worldwide.

AcceliCITY Grand Prize: The winner of AcceliCITY will receive a $100,000 city pilot sponsorship generously provided by QBE.
People’s Choice Award East: This is an additional opportunity to win $25,000 in funding generously provided by QBE.

Criteria

AcceliCITY is looking for startups with an innovative solution catered towards selling to state and/or local governments.
The web-based curriculum and boot camp are both designed for startups who are just beginning to fundraise, market, and/or sell; or those looking to improve in those areas. Like most programs of this nature, a participant will only get out of the program what they are willing to put into it.
Applications are primarily evaluated based on the magnitude of the impact the solution will have on society,
The level of significance in addressing the challenge,
The degree of innovation demonstrated by the solution.
Furthermore, supplementary assessments are conducted in relation to conventional startup evaluation aspects, including the overall business model and market potential.
