RootCamp Agtech & Bioeconomy Acceleration Program is now open for applications to support early stage startups. RootCamp supports AgTech & Bioeconomy startup founders in laying the foundation for long-term success and scaling your businesses more quickly by providing you with access to funding, potential clients, partners, mentors, and experts. Their expert team is committed to working with each founder on their journey individually to create world class companies and attract venture investment.

RootCamp Acceleration Program Structure

The program is divided into two phases:

Acceleration program | 3 months
Pilot project (optional) | up to 12 months

Acceleration program

The program consists of a 12 intense weeks with a both in-person and virtual presence.
You get weekly personalized coaching and a network of mentors that supports you on topics like IP, finance, fundraising, sales, marketing, IT, HR, etc. During this period you have full access to the office, access to our e-learning platform, and all events. This phase ends with a Demo Day.

Pilot project

After that, you will have the possibility to get additional 9 months to further define, develop and pilot your product/technology in cooperation with our corporate partners.
This project’s length, terms, and conditions are strictly individual as all projects are different.
Pilot outcomes include:
- product co-development
- commercial partnership
- licensing agreements
- extension of customers base
- additional investments

- We design marketing activities to increase your brand visibility, we organize events to introduce you to our network and we bring you with us to external conferences when possible.
Office Space
- You can access our office space in Hannover 24/7 for free.
International Reach
- We select startups from all over the world, the pilot projects can be carried out anywhere in the world, and we have great connections with other multipliers and programs in other geographic areas.

Eligibility Criteria

Motivation: You want to grow your startup and scale your product.
Phase: Startups from pre-seed to Series A.
Solution: Tech-driven & scalable solutions, truly outstanding, and unique.
Stage: Show them your minimum viable product, prototype in beta, and/or some market validation.
Team: Founding team consisting of at least 2 people.

Terms

They take no equity and it is cost-free.
Grants and additional funds are assigned to startups for the project phase
Compulsory attendance to the activities of the acceleration program and all events (including Demo Day).
The program is hybrid (3 out of 12 weeks are in presence in Hannover).
The program is entirely in English.

How To Apply for RootCamp Acceleration Program

Our application process is divided into the steps below. These steps are consequent, meaning that you need to succeed in step 1 to move to steps 2 and 3. You will get detailed information from our team. The overall process from steps 1 to 3 can take from 1 to 1.5 months.

Online application: F6S application (Answer questions + upload your latest pitch deck) – check the deadline above!
Video call: we want to talk to you to clarify open questions and we always invite experts from our corporate partners to join. This is also your chance to ask questions.
Final pitch in front of the jury: We invite up to 12 startups to pitch in front of a jury of our corporate partners. This session is generally virtual and after the pitch the startups joining the program are announced. You will receive more instructions from RootCamp’s team if you are a later-stage startup applying for the Implementation Program.
