Applications are now open for Roots Micro-grants Program. Roots, a leading organization dedicated to advancing climate justice, is thrilled to announce the launch of its new Micro-grants Program. Aimed at supporting youth-led groups, projects, initiatives, research, or campaigns, this initiative seeks to empower voices from the Global South advocating for climate justice through an intersectional lens.
Roots is a program aiming to catalyze the growth and impact of a Global South climate justice movement made up of intersectional and youth-led grassroots initiatives. At their core, they are about sustained, strategic, and responsible relationship and movement building whilst investing in the long-term grassroots power and leadership critical to drive climate action. Their program aims to nurture a base, build capacity, foster community, and help people win campaigns. They work with changemakers and communities to build power from the ground up.
Roots Micro-grants Benefits
- The micro-grants program provides funding of up to $10,000 USD per group to help support youth-led projects, initiatives, research, or campaigns that advocate for climate justice through an intersectional lens.
- The program will also offer mentorship, capacity building, community building, media and social media support.
Eligibility
- The program will provide grants for between 10-15 grassroots youth-led initiatives, with a focus on groups in Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Southeast Asia and South Asia.
