The 2nd edition of the SDG Digital GameChangers Award will honour organizations that are working towards rescuing the Global Goals through digital. The award ceremony will take place during SDG Digital Futures on 20 September, 2024.

The award seeks to recognize and celebrate innovative digital solutions that contribute significantly to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Organizations and individuals are encouraged to submit their groundbreaking projects, policies, applications, and ideas.

Who can apply for SDG Digital GameChangers Award?

Academia/Technical Community
Civil Society
Government
International Organizations/ UN Agencies
Private Sector
Youth

What kinds of solutions are eligible?

Projects: Digital-enabled projects already being implemented on the ground, with a positive, measurable impact on any of the 17 SDGs.
Policies: Ground-breaking legislative or regulatory reforms enacted to advance the use of digital technologies to address the SDGs.
Innovative applications: Game-changing solutions and applications, or practical examples of digital technologies advancing the achievement of SDGs.
Youth ideas: Creative and innovative concepts and ideas for projects, campaigns, policies, training, or other activities with potential to leverage digital technologies to help achieve SDGs – from applicants aged 18-29 years.

SDG Digital GameChangers Award Categories

Preliminary submission criteria: note that all submissions should demonstrate the importance of SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, and foster collaborations among governments, civil society organizations, private sector entities, and other stakeholders. It is a key criterion that submissions showcase how they have formed and engaged in partnerships to drive progress towards the SDGs. These partnerships ensure collective efforts, shared responsibilities, and a holistic approach towards achieving the SDGs.

How to Apply for SDG Digital GameChangers Award?

The application process is completely online. To ensure that you are ready to submit your application for the SDG Digital GameChangers Award, please make sure you:

Familiarize yourself with the categories and know what award you are applying for;
Check your eligibility for the youth award in any of the categories, if applicable;
Thoroughly understand the terms and conditions, including the evaluation criteria;
Note the submission cannot be saved mid-way. We recommend you have everything prepared when you start the process, including any supporting material.
