The Africa Technology Expo (ATE) 2026 is scheduled to take place on the 26th and 27th of June 2026 at the National Theatre in Lagos, Nigeria. The event brings together leading innovators, investors, startups, and technology ecosystems from across the continent to showcase groundbreaking solutions shaping Africa’s digital future. As part of this flagship gathering, the Breet Fintech Builder Grant is positioned as a key initiative supporting the next generation of fintech, crypto, and stablecoin builders.

The grant is designed to empower real, working businesses rather than early-stage concepts. It provides equity-free funding and technical support to builders who are already shipping products and are ready to scale through API-driven innovation.

Grant Details

The Breet Builder Grant is a $10,000 equity-free funding opportunity created to support high-potential African startups building in fintech infrastructure, cryptocurrency solutions, and stablecoin-powered systems.
Two selected winners each receive $5,000, awarded live at the Africa Technology Expo in Lagos.

Eligibility Criteria for Breet Fintech Builder Grant

The Breet Builder Grant targets serious builders who are actively operating or preparing to launch. Applicants are expected to demonstrate readiness for integration, compliance, and market deployment.

Eligible applicants include those who are:

Building fintech, crypto, stablecoin, or payments solutions
Operating at growth stage with a live or near-live product
Ready to integrate APIs into existing systems rather than developing concepts
Building solutions targeting African markets or operating across multiple African regions
Fully compliant with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Know Your Business (KYB) requirements
Able to provide clear timelines if their product is not yet live

Applicants are expected to show evidence of operational readiness, including incorporation status and regulatory compliance where applicable.

Breet Fintech Builder Grant Key Requirements

To qualify for participation, businesses must meet the following requirements:

Possession of KYC/KYB partner arrangements
Ability to present valid business registration documentation
Compliance readiness for API access and financial integration
Operational or near-operational product status
Willingness to integrate Breet’s API into a working solution

Selected finalists are required to present their solutions on stage at the Expo in front of investors, ecosystem leaders, and industry stakeholders.

How To Apply for Breet Fintech Builder Grant

The Breet Builder Grant follows a structured six-step process designed to support end-to-end product integration and evaluation.

Access to Breet API
- Applicants begin by signing up for free access to Breet’s API. There are no initial costs or barriers, allowing developers to begin building immediately.
Integration and Development
- Participants integrate the API into their live products. Technical support is provided through communication channels such as WhatsApp and Slack to ensure smooth implementation.
Solution Submission
- Applicants submit a demonstration showcasing how the Breet API enhances their product. Submissions must reflect real integration rather than conceptual ideas.
Selection of Finalists
- The top five most compelling solutions are selected and invited to pitch at the Africa Technology Expo in Lagos.
Live Pitching Event
- Finalists present their solutions live on stage in front of leading investors, venture capital firms, and ecosystem stakeholders.
Awarding of Winners
- Two winning businesses are selected and awarded $5,000 each. The funding is provided to support continued product development and scaling across African markets.
