The Dana Foundation Grants Programme 2026 provides flexible, unrestricted funding of up to €150,000 over three years to locally led organisations addressing multidimensional poverty. It focuses on long-term impact through trust-based philanthropy, supporting community-driven, evidence-based solutions. The programme prioritizes local leadership, systemic change, and reduced administrative burden.

    The Dana foundations funds locally led organisations that address the many, interconnected dimensions of poverty (from education and health to livelihoods, equality, and climate resilience) recognising that poverty is more than a lack of income. The programme emphasizes long-term impact by enabling organisations to implement sustainable, community-driven solutions.

    Program Objectives

    The programme aims to:

    • Address multidimensional poverty through integrated interventions
    • Strengthen long-term community impact
    • Support locally designed and led solutions
    • Promote systemic change targeting root causes of poverty

    It focuses on empowering organisations closest to the communities they serve.

    Grant Details

    • Multi-year funding: 3-year grants allowing our grantee partners to plan ahead and invest where needed
    • Unrestricted funding: trusteeing our grantee partners to decide how best to use funds to advance their mission
    • Simplified reporting: reduced administrative burden so organisations can focus on their work
    • Average grant size: €50,000 per year (€150,000 over 3 years)

    Eligibility Criteria

    Your organisation should meet the following criteria:

    • Annual budget under €500,000
    • Locally-led: Governed and staffed primarily by people from the communities you serve
    • At least 2 years of operational history
    • Multidimensional approach: Your work addresses multiple, interconnected aspects of poverty (such as linking health with livelihoods, education with gender equality, agriculture with environmental protection, etc.)
    • Geographic focus: Operating in areas with high levels of multidimensional poverty
    • Legal status: Registered as a non-profit/NGO or equivalent.

    How to Apply

    Follow these steps to apply:

    • Check Eligibility: Ensure your organisation meets budget, leadership, and location criteria.
    • Complete the online application form and upload the documents listed below. When submitting documents, prioritise detail over presentation. A working draft with full financial details will provided more useful details than a polished summary that leaves out the substance. The evaluation system reads for content, so the more specific and complete your documents are, the better. Documents can be written in English, French, Spanish or Arabic. You will be asked to upload the following documents:
      • Registration certificate
      • Conflict of interest policy
      • Annual accounts
      • Financial management manual
      • Safeguarding policy
      • Monitoring & Evaluation framework
      • Risk register
      • Strategy document
      • Project proposal

    Noted: Documents must be uploaded in the correct section or they will not be considered.
