    Applications are open for Lagos Agrithon 2026. The Lagos Agrithon is a flagship agricultural innovation challenge designed to identify, support, and scale innovative solutions that address critical challenges across Nigeria’s agriculture and food systems. Organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems through the Lagos Agrinnovation Club, the programme provides funding, mentorship, capacity building, and networking opportunities for promising agripreneurs and agritech innovators.It is designed to identify, nurture, support, and scale youth-led agribusinesses and agritech innovations that are transforming Lagos State’s food systems, from farm to fork.

    The initiative serves as a platform for startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs to showcase transformative ideas capable of improving food production, enhancing agricultural productivity, reducing post-harvest losses, and strengthening food security in Lagos State and beyond.

    Selected participants will compete for a share of the ₦200 Million Agrinnovation Fund, one of the largest agricultural innovation funding pools in Nigeria. The fund is intended to help agribusinesses and agritech startups scale their innovations, expand operations, and increase their impact across the food system.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To qualify for Lagos Agrithon 2025, applicants must:

    • Be between 18 and 40 years old.
    • Own or operate a startup within the agriculture or food systems sector.
    • Have a business that is between 0 and 5 years old (some programme documents indicate a minimum of one year with evidence of market traction or MVP).
    • Be based in Lagos State or demonstrate measurable impact within the Lagos agrifood ecosystem.
    • Be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
    • Be registered with the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASSRA/LASRRA).
    • Have an innovative solution addressing a significant agricultural or food system challenge.
    • Be open to startups, innovators, entrepreneurs, and interdisciplinary teams.
