    Applications are open for Thrive Grant 2026.The Thrive Grant funds initiatives outside USA that accelerate alternatives to industrial animal agriculture, create plant-rich food systems, and/or increase access to or awareness of nutritious plant-based foods.

    Grants range from $10,000 to $30,000 USD, prioritizing established organizations with proven impact. The program supports sustainable, plant-rich food solutions while excluding projects involving animal exploitation or for-profit activities.

    The Thrive Grant is a global funding opportunity designed to support organizations working to transform food systems by reducing reliance on industrial animal agriculture. The program focuses on accelerating the transition toward plant-based, sustainable, and equitable food systems.

    Thrive Grant Details

    • The Thrive Grant ranges from $10,000 USD to $30,000 USD.
    • The Thrive  Grant is geared toward mid-size or larger organizations with a track record of success.

    Program Overview

    The Thrive Grant supports initiatives that:

    • Promote plant-based diets and food innovation
    • Increase access to nutritious plant-based foods
    • Raise awareness about sustainable food systems
    • Reduce environmental and ethical impacts of industrial animal agriculture

    The program is part of a broader effort to build climate-friendly, resource-efficient, and humane food systems globally.

    Thrive Grant Key Focus Areas

    Funded projects must align with one or more of the following areas:

    • Development and promotion of plant-based food systems
    • Awareness campaigns on sustainable diets
    • Community-level initiatives improving access to plant-based foods
    • Research, advocacy, or programs reducing reliance on animal agriculture

    Projects should demonstrate clear outcomes in sustainability, nutrition, and food system transformation.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Proposals that aim to accelerate alternatives to industrial animal agriculture, create plant-rich food systems, and/or increase access to or awareness of nutritious plant-based foods.

    • Aligns with Thrive Philanthropy’s safespace policy.
    • Any country that is not USA, and not an international chapter of a US-based organization.
    • Applicants must consistently demonstrate a positive reputation with their stakeholders and community and can contribute to Thrive Philanthropy’s positive reputation.
    • Not a for-profit company.
    • Thrive Grants are typically directed to organizations. If you are an individual, please see our Seed Grant.
    • We are currently prioritizing organizations with a budget less than $500,000 USD
    • For Africa applicants – have a received an invitation or previous grant.

    Ineligible Projects

    • Initiatives that benefit, support, or are impartial to the exploitation of animals
    • Cellular agriculture initiatives
    • Organizations or projects that provide food aid to the military or police
    • For-profit companies, including restaurants or other businesses
    • Food banks, food giveaways, meal distributions, hunger-relief
    • Farmed animal welfare campaigns
    • Animal farming or other animal use
    • Projects that use animal products (animal-based food, leather, etc.)
    • Political parties or candidate endorsement
    • Gardening projects that aren’t part of a larger strategy to reduce factory farm demand.
    • Tuition, student research, university fees
    • Work within the United States or international chapters of USA organizations
    • Chapters of large international organizations
